I have been playing with r.c. boats for about 5 years now, and was racing regularly with the Gold Coast Model Power Boat Club, until I dislocated my patela kneecap. Realizing I would be off my feet for some time, I started building electric boats. The rationalisation being that I could get them in the water easier than a nitro boat with less danger to myself and other boaters. Also I could then run in the local pond, which doesnt allow i.c. engines and is only 10 minutes away, compared to 1 hour for the Gold Coast.
